We love it here.
The beauty and majesty of these mountains, the farms and Toba Lake have given us much to be thankful for. We are next door to the local hospital in our temporary home and there are many opportunities to volunteer. Handsome Son is always happy to do his part.
We have made some great friends and begun to get involved with the local coffee growers. The Mayor has requested our farm be used as a pilot program for Organic Farming to encourage local growers to pursue Organic Certification. We had a presentation with local Agriculture Officials to present our plans and ideas. We have an opportunity to make a difference here. We would love to see the quality of life and the economy improve here.
The fact that we do not have hot water or a shower or regular power here in our house seems to matter less and less the more time you spend on the porch admiring the view…
The night time view ain’t bad either; the hospital is open 24 hours for emergencies. It is the lighted building you see. The mountain in silhouette is Singalong.
